With the 2011 National Sports Collectors Convention being held in Chicago, the Sept. 2011 issue of SMR featured articles related to Chicago's hobby stars. I - along with friends and dedicated Big Hurt collectors James Jones and Nate Bard - was fortunate enough to be interviewed and have images of some of my collection featured on pages 75-80 of the issue. All card images featured in this article are from my personal collection.

With renewed interest in the 1990 Topps NNOF RC due to the discovery of the backless errors, Beckett Bigwig Chris Olds decided to visit the blackless findings and revisit many other errors and variations popular in the sports card collecting community.
The article had a large focus on the 1989 Fleer Billy Ripken FF error card. Friend Donovan Ryan was interviewed for the article for his expertise on the FF error. Check out his site:

Hobby Heavy Hitter Don Fluckinger was spot on in May of 2010 when he predicted the growth potential of Big Frank's rookie cards. All card images in this article are from my personal collection.
Fellow Frank Thomas collector and friend, Chad Huffman also received credit for his then active and informative site bighurt35.com. Chad has since taken the site down, but I hope to see it back online in the future.
